Meet our Physics faculty

Dhanji

Dr. Aleya Dhanji

As a first-generation college student raised in East Africa, I am keenly aware of the power education has to transform people’s lives. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Physics from Stanford University, and my Master of Science and PhD in Physics from the Ohio State University. While at the Ohio State University, I switched from astrophysics and cosmology to biophysics (interested in why? come talk to me!). In graduate school, I realized I really loved to teach after a series of teaching opportunities and fellowships came my way. This is also what ignited my passion for Physics Education Research as a way to move forward evidence based practices in the classroom. My current work is on Advancing Culturally Responsive Team Learning for Underserved Students in the STEM Classroom and creating alliances around STEM transfer partnerships between two-year and four-year colleges. Interested in collaborating? I would love to hear from you!

I consider it a privilege to be able to teach at Highline where my students are a constant source of inspiration. I love working with students to build a community of learning where students feel like they can achieve ANYTHING! If you are a prospective or current student interested in physics/astronomy, come by my office and say hi. My door is always open.

Dr. Igor Glozman

I have been teaching physics and astronomy at Highline for over 20 years. I always enjoy helping students and talking science. If you have any questions at all, please reach out to me and I will do my best to address all your concerns.
